The Memorial Day Ceremony takes place on Memorial Day at 10:00AM. Participants gather at Central Park at the Veteran's War Memorial, followed by a walk to Elmwood Township Cemetery where a a wreath is laid.

Veteran Grave Markers
For the past two years we have focused fundraising on replacing grave markers of those that have served in the Elmwood cemeteries. Through donations from private citizens and fundraisers, we have been able to replace over 250 markers.
Veteran Memorial Bricks
Bricks may be purchased for engraving with a service person's name and information. It will then be laid at the War Memorial in Central Park in Elmwood. Contact us for more information.
Veteran Memorial Bricks
Started in 1947, each year high school students are invited to participate in a audio- essay that provides them with the unique opportunity to express themselves in regards to a democratic and patriotic-themed recorded essay.
Students enter at a local level, then go on to compete at a regional and national level. The Patriot's Pen is designed for students grades 6-8. More information can be found at https://www.vfw.org/community/youth-and-education/youth-scholarships.
Ruck 22 Walk
Ruck 22: John Pettit Memorial Walk is a community event to raise awareness of veteran PTSD and suicide.
The walk has three legs for participants to choose from; proceeds raised will be donated to Freedom Paws Service Dogs, John Pettit Memorial Scholarship and the Elmwood VFW.
